La Usurpadora presents Antes y Despues (Before and After)

Guest curator Noelle Lieber has gathered together a collection of photographic works which represent the concept of 'antes y despues (before and after)'. Celebrating the anniversary of Puerto Colombia's rebel independent art space, La Usurpadora, the exhibition will be staged for one night only at Calle 2, #13 - 61 on Saturday March 4, from 4pm until late. Work by Emma Anna will feature as part of this special event.

Peace Piece

Emma has begun work on Peace Piece, a collaborative international public art project.

Combining relational aesthetics, crafting circles and traditional quilting techniques, the project seeks contributions from all corners of the globe. 

The first public display of Peace Piece is currently in the planning stage, with hopes it will be installed at the Plaza del Paz in Barranquilla, Colombia in late 2013. The work will function as a peaceful but resonant protest against all manifestations of war, violence and persecution.

Kognitif + imag_ne

Kognitif is a Spanish cultural organisation specialising in the production and promotion of public art. The group is currently compiling an art book for a Barcelona-based publishing company with a focus on ephemeral interventions and creative actions in the public realm. The publication will include reference to Emma Anna's interpretation of imag_ne for The City of Greater Dandenong, a unique multi-sited installation that has been active in the municipality since early 2010. The completed book will due to be launched in Colombia in March 2013.
